 To our nursery growers:
You may know we successfully launched Discus Nursery Insecticide in 2004 to our nursery partners nationwide.
For those who may be unfamiliar, Discus is a combination of imidacloprid and cyfluthrin that is labeled as both a spray and drench for production ornamentals grown in field and container nurseries.
As a drench, Discus gives season-long control of troublesome insects such as grubs, chafers, and borers. Discus satisfies the Japanese Beetle quarantine for those shipping into quarantined areas.
As a spray at 25 fl. oz. per 100 gal., Discus offers 28-day residual control of pests such as aphids, leafhoppers (including the glassywinged sharpshooter), mealybugs, scale, whiteflies, and more.
Now, a Discus label expansion has given nursery growers even more options: Discus can now be used through chemigation, making a large-scale drench a little easier.
In addition, a fall Discus drench application gives early-season control of sucking insects the next spring. The active ingredients in Discus remain stable in the plant throughout the winter when applied in early-to-mid fall.

| AS NOTED ABOVE, DISCUS IS NOT JUST A SUPERB SPRING PRODUCT!! DISCUS CAN BE USED EFFECTIVELY IN THE FALL EITHER AS A LATE SEASON KNOCKDOWN OR TO CONTROL INSECT PESTS EARLY THE NEXT SPRING!! |

Finally, as with all insecticides, growers should make Discus a part of a comprehensive IPM program that relies on chemistries from different chemical classes with different modes of action.
