OHP strengthens market position with Chemtura deal
For OHP, the big news in 2007 occurred in
July.
That’s when OHP, your “Partner with
Solutions,” added the former Chemtura line
of greenhouse and nursery products to its
portfolio.
As a result of the partnership, OHP now
offers approximately 30 brands for the ornamental
grower.
Growers will like the fact that there is not
much crossover between the two merged
product lines.
“The synergies and marketing opportunities
between the merged product lines are
unlimited,” notes Dan Stahl, OHP Vice President
of marketing and business development. “There is little overlap of chemistry or
modes of action so now we can offer more
products for your resistance management
rotation,” notes Stahl.
For instance, Judo™, Pylon® and Floramite® are all miticides but with three distinct
modes of action.
In the plant growth regulator (PGR) category,
OHP’s Cycocel® and Chemtura’s B-Nine® have been natural tank mix partners for
many years. “We are promoting the combination heavily
and now with the addition of the paclobutrazol
product Paczol®,we offer yet another
PGR solution for growers,” says Stahl.
The IGR leader
The synergies continue in the Insect Growth
Regulator (IGR) category, notes Stahl. “We are now the market leader in the IGR
category with the addition of Adept®, and
Pedestal® to our existing Azatin® product,” says Stahl.
Additionally, the OHP “Family of Fungicides” has grown with the addition of the
Chemtura fungicides.
The addition of Terraclor®,Terraguard®, and
Terrazole® to the OHP “Family of Fungicides” brings the total to 11 premium products in
our new “Family.”
Over time, you will see the former Chemtura
products packaged into the existing OHP
packaging format. The Chemtura brand
names will remain the same.
In addition to the Chemtura partnership,
look for OHP to bring even more solutions
to the market in the near future.
That is indeed good news for growers looking
to OHP, your “Partners With Solutions.”
