Pylon® now labeled for thrips on ornamentals, vegetables
Most growers will tell you that thrips are
among the most difficult-to-control pests
they fight each year.
There is no silver bullet for thrips control
but there are many products labeled for
thrips that, when used as part of a rotational
strategy, can help. (Refer to our “Thrips Cocktail” for a complete
product listing.)
A new option for thrips control is our
Pylon insecticide/miticide.
Growers have used Pylon with success on a broad
variety of mites for several
years.
Now, we have added thrips
to the Pylon label, giving
growers another option in
the never-ending battle.
With active ingredient
chlorfenapyr, Pylon is effective against
both larva and adult stages of thrips.
Pylon may be used on both
ornamentals and greenhouse
vegetables grown in
greenhouses.
Pylon, with a 12-hour REI and
Caution signal word, may be
applied up to the day of harvest
on greenhouse-grown
fruiting vegetables. Consult
the label for rate information.
