Thrips control with Pedestal, Azatin

From coast to coast, growers mention thrips as one of the most troublesome pests to control. We have products that can help in the never-ending fight.

Pedestal® and Azatin® Insect Growth Regulators (IGR) are effective thrips control products when used as part of a rotational strategy utilizing multiple modes of action.

Both are IGRs and are usually applied with the addition of an adulticide (such as OHP's Decathlon®) since they control only the insect's larval stage.

Pedestal, with its active ingredient novaluron, is used at 6 to 8 fl. oz. per 100 gal. of water for control of larval stages of thrips. Containing the active ingredient azadirachtin,

Azatin is used at 12 to 16 fl. oz. per 100 gal. and controls many Lepidoptera species as well as thrips. Azatin is labeled for use on vegetables and herbs as well.

The products should not be used together. For more information on the OHP Thrips Cocktail and spray strategies, click here.
